Bio

The Townes are a four piece band from Chicago and are entering their third year together as a group.  Their music is a distinct blend of rock and alt-country with their influences including such bands as Uncle Tupelo, Whiskeytown, Old 97’s, REM, Radiohead, Springsteen, Wilco, and The Band.

The Townes have been heard on local radio stations including WLUW 88.7 and WZRD 88.3.  Audio clips and message boards along with upcoming events are daily posted at both Myspace.com/thetownes as well as Thetownesmusic.com.

Live

The Townes have been busy trekking all over the Chicago land area for the past few years and are wrapping up a busy fall in the area, the Townes are looking to set off on their first tour this winter.  The Townes have played local venues including Navy Pier's Grand Ballroom, The Double Door, The Abbey Pub, Fitzgerald's, The Underground Lounge, Elbo Room, Gunther Murphy’s, Lizzie McNeill’s, Goose Island Brewery, Bernie’s Tavern, and both the Chicago Half and Quarter Marathons.  Their fan base is steady and increasing every day with anywhere from 75 to 300 people showing up on any given night.
